Projects, and a company's annual reports read for you

Projects
The sidebar has a new Projects row. A project keeps the chats, files, folders and web pages for one piece of work together. ⌘O opens a project or creates one. Haruno no longer asks you for a folder before you can chat.
Every company in your Portfolio now has a project of its own, named after it. Ask Haruno on a company's page opens that project's chat, and the chat reads that company's books. When you archive a company, its project is archived too. Restore the company and the project comes back with it.
Read a company's annual reports
Add a folder or a PDF of a company's annual reports to a project, then choose Read as company accounts… on it. Haruno reads the balance sheet, the income statement and the cash flow statement from each report. Scanned reports are read too, on your Mac.
Sometimes Haruno isn't sure. For example, it may not know which line is the profit, which unit the figures are in or which year a column covers. Then the report shows Needs a look, and Answer… asks you.
The project gets a Companies tab. Each company there has its own page with its statements over the years and its findings. Its Analysis tab says what stands out, how the company has changed, its strengths and risks, and what to check in the full report. Every figure the analysis quotes is checked against the statements. A point that doesn't match them is left out.
If a figure on a scan looks misread, Haruno marks it. Click it to see that page of the PDF with the figure boxed, then type the number the page shows.
The project's chats can read these companies too.
One customer is counted once
When a customer was renamed or set up again in your billing, the books counted one customer lost and a new one won. Now the close spots customers that look like the same one and asks you about them on Findings & questions. Link them, or keep them apart.
Until you answer, the recurring revenue figures say "Customer identities need review." Mark as Reviewed asks first if any are still open. The recurring revenue panel also names the customers lost and won each month. The investor report never names them.
QuickBooks
- A company added from QuickBooks takes its address and its tax jurisdiction from QuickBooks. Enter the EIN and the entity type yourself in Company details, because QuickBooks doesn't have them.
- Remove from this computer is now Stop syncing from QuickBooks, which is what it always did. The company keeps its books and stays in your Portfolio, and its card says "sync stopped".
- Archived companies are listed under Archived at the foot of the company list. Right-click one to Restore it, or to delete its data on this Mac with Delete Company Data….
- An archived company is also listed in Add company ▸ From QuickBooks. Choosing it restores its books.
Books that are easier to read
- The Portfolio says why a company needs attention, such as a short runway or an open serious finding.
- A company whose cash is below zero shows that no runway is left, not a negative number of months.
- A month's open checks are named by their titles, not by codes.
- The mapping review explains itself in plain words. Preview changes lists what would change, and Draft again is now Analyze data again.
Your data stays where you put it
- Haruno asks you before running a command that sends your data off your Mac, even if you allowed a similar one before. A scheduled task never sends data this way. If it tries, the run fails and says a chat can do it instead.
- Haruno checks what a file really is before it attaches, imports, previews or opens it. Programs and shortcuts can't be attached, and workbooks with macros aren't imported.
- Haruno's diagnostic records no longer keep what you write in a chat. Copies left by earlier versions are removed, and deleting a chat removes its records too.
Smaller things
- Haruno opens where you left it: the project and its tab, a company's tab, the Portfolio as cards or a table, and the scheduled task you had selected.
- While an update installs, Send waits. Your draft is kept.
- Memory and Suggestions moved from Settings ▸ General to Settings ▸ Advanced, in the advanced view.
