First steps with Haruno

From download to your first finished task — this will guide you through sign-in, connecting an app, and reviewing Haruno's work.

What you need

Before you start, make sure you have these three things.

  • A computer running a supported operating system such as Mac or Windows (see Installation for current requirements).
  • A Haruno account — sign up through the Dashboard if you don't have one yet.
  • A stable internet connection to sign-in, receive updates, and use AI features.

Install and launch

Download Haruno from the Homepage or the Dashboard and follow the installer for your platform, then open the app. The full install steps for your operating system — including what to do if it warns about an unrecognized app — are on the Installation page.

Detailed steps: Install and sign in.

Sign in on your computer

When Haruno opens for the first time it asks you to sign in. To keep your password safe, the app never asks for it directly — instead it opens your browser, where you confirm the connection. Once you approve, the desktop app is linked to your account. Accounts can be used with Google login or with an email/password combination.

  1. Click Sign in with browser in the Haruno app. Your browser opens to the Haruno website.

  2. Check that the device name shown in the browser matches your computer's name.

  3. Click Authorize to link this computer to your account.

  4. Return to the app — you're signed in, and your workspace settings sync automatically.

You can sign in on more than one computer. Manage or revoke linked computers anytime from your dashboard under Account → Devices.

警告
Only authorize a connection that you requested yourself. If a request appears with a device name that you don't recognize, deny it.
Budget exhausted
If Haruno displays "Budget exhausted", there is no active Haruno plan on this account. Set up a plan from the Account page in your dashboard: https://haruno.ai/dashboard/en/account.

Connect your first app

Haruno works with the tools you already use. Connecting even one app — your email, calendar, or cloud storage — makes your first tasks far more useful, because Haruno can pull in real and current information.

  1. Open Settings and navigate to Connectors (On Windows these are named Integrations).

  2. Select an app you use every day — Gmail or Google Drive are good first choices.

  3. Sign in with that app's account and review the access Haruno requests.

  4. Confirm — the connector shows as connected and is ready to use in tasks.

提示
You stay in control: every connector can be disconnected or restricted at any time, and Haruno shows you exactly what it wants to access before you confirm.

Run your first task

A task is a plain-language instruction. For a first task, pick something small and checkable — a summary, a draft, a short bit of research — so you can judge the result at a glance.

  1. Open the Chat tab and type what you want in a direct and simple way.

  2. You can also reference a file with @, or attach one, so Haruno has real material to work with.

  3. Send the message and watch Haruno work — it shows each step as it goes.

  4. When Haruno wants to do something beyond reading — save a file, send a message — it asks first. Choose Allow once to approve a single action.

  5. Review the result in the chat, then reply with changes ('shorter', 'add a table') until it's right.

Name the file, the format, and where the result should go. Specific instructions get specific results — see the Prompts page for more.
