QuickBooks Online
Connect a company's QuickBooks Online books, ask Haruno about them, and record invoices and bills with your approval.
What Haruno can do
Once a company is connected, you can ask about its books in a chat, such as “Which invoices are still unpaid?” or “How did expenses change last quarter?”, and Haruno answers from that company's own records.
- Read customers, vendors, invoices, bills, payments, products and services, and the chart of accounts.
- Run the profit and loss, balance sheet, aged receivables and trial balance reports for any dates.
- Create invoices, estimates, bills, expenses, payments and customers or vendors, update names, notes and contact details on existing records, and email an invoice.
By default, Haruno asks before every change and shows what it is about to record. Nothing changes until you approve it.
Connect a company
- Open Haruno. If you don't have it yet, download it for Mac or Windows from haruno.ai.
- On a Mac, click your name at the bottom of the sidebar, choose Connectors…, and find QuickBooks under Finance. On Windows, open Settings, choose Connectors and select QuickBooks; turn on Enable, then choose Add account.
- Click Connect to QuickBooks. Your browser opens Intuit's sign-in page; on a Mac it gets there through your Haruno dashboard, which may ask you to sign in to Haruno first.
- Sign in to QuickBooks and choose the company to connect. Haruno never sees your Intuit password.
- Return to Haruno. On Windows, choose Save connection. The company now appears with its name.
Each connection is one company. To connect another: on a Mac, choose Connect another company… from the ⋯ menu next to a company; on Windows, choose Add another and repeat the steps above. You can also connect companies on your Haruno dashboard, under Connections; Haruno for Mac uses the companies connected there.
Reconnect a company
A QuickBooks connection doesn't last forever. It ends if it goes unused for 100 days or someone disconnects Haruno in QuickBooks, and Intuit also sets a final expiry date for every connection, which it warns you about in advance. The next time Haruno tries to reach the company, it shows that the company needs to be reconnected.
- Open Connectors in Haruno, as when you connected the company.
- On a Mac, click Reconnect next to the company. If there is no Reconnect button yet, choose Connect another company… from the ⋯ menu next to it. On Windows, select the company and click Connect to QuickBooks.
- Sign in to QuickBooks and choose the same company. The new connection replaces the old one.
Disconnect a company
In Haruno
On a Mac, choose Manage on dashboard… from the ⋯ menu next to the company, or open Connections on your Haruno dashboard, then click Disconnect next to the company. Haruno deletes the connection and asks Intuit to end its access, on all your devices at once. On Windows, open Connectors, select the company and choose Remove connection. Haruno removes the connection from your computer and asks Intuit to end its access. If Haruno can't confirm that with Intuit, it tells you; then disconnect in QuickBooks as well.
In QuickBooks Online
- Sign in to QuickBooks Online as an admin.
- Go to Integrations, then Manage integrations.
- Find Haruno, select the more icon (⋮) and choose Disconnect.
Either way, Haruno can no longer read or change the company's books. Haruno's servers keep no copy of your QuickBooks data, so there is nothing for us to delete. Reports, chat history and books Haruno saved on your computer stay there until you delete them.
What happens to your data
- Your connection is stored on your computer: in the Keychain on a Mac, and in your account's protected storage on Windows. Haruno's servers complete the sign-in and renew the connection with Intuit, but don't store it.
- Haruno reads QuickBooks data only to answer your requests. What's relevant to a question is sent to the AI model provider that answers it, only to carry out that request.
- Haruno's servers don't store the content of your conversations, so they keep no copy of your QuickBooks data.
- Haruno doesn't sell your QuickBooks data and doesn't use it to train AI models.
The details are in our Privacy Policy and Data Processing Disclosure.
