Questions for management, drafted after every close

When a close finishes, Haruno drafts each company's questions for management on its own and puts them on the company's Findings tab, with every figure checked against the books. Use Draft again whenever you want a fresh set.

A question nobody has answered or set aside yet stays on the card after the next close, under Still open from the month it was asked about. You can answer it or set it aside there, and Haruno does not ask the same thing twice. Copy and Share… now include each answer under its question, and a company's row in the sidebar and its Portfolio card show how many questions are still open.

Reconcile a QuickBooks company from its reconciliation reports

QuickBooks gives a bank reconciliation only as its Reconciliation report, saved as a PDF. Haruno now reads that PDF. Add it to a company with Upload files, or drop it onto the window, and the month it covers counts as reconciled for that account, just like a reconciliation in the binder.

The file shows as Reconciliation in the company's files. A PDF that is not a reconciliation report is listed as not read, with the reason.

The newest export is the one that counts

When you export the same QuickBooks report again, Haruno now uses the one QuickBooks ran last, whatever the file is called. Before, a second export named something like "Balance Sheet copy" could leave the older figures in place. Once a newer export replaces an older one, the older file also stops adding notes to the close.

Smaller improvements

  • Stopping a reply no longer cancels a review that is running in the background.
  • The chat box no longer fills up with notes about the open books. Ask about a company and Haruno looks its books up itself.
