Faster Financial Reviews with Haruno

Follow a financial review from spreadsheets and invoices to an interactive dashboard and a Word report, completed in about 30 minutes with Haruno.

One playbook run takes this review from a folder of spreadsheets, invoices, and contracts to an interactive dashboard and a Microsoft Word report. In this demonstration, Haruno completes the work in about 30 minutes, with the sources and progress available to inspect along the way.

Start with the source files

This demonstration uses a fictional company and sample financial records. I’m reviewing its second-quarter finances, with information spread across Excel spreadsheets, a CSV bank export, PDF invoices in different currencies, and Microsoft Word contracts and policies.

Together, these files tell the story of what was billed, what was paid, and which transactions need a closer look.

Run the finance review playbook

For this run, I use a playbook called finance-review. It defines the review procedure, so I can start the task with a single command:

The Actions sidebar gives the procedural details their own space alongside the conversation. I can see what Haruno is working on, which files it has read, and which sources it is using without losing my place in the chat.

At this stage, Haruno has identified the reporting period and the documents that will support the review.

Explore the live report

As the analysis progresses, Haruno opens a live report beside the chat. I can start exploring the results while the remaining work continues. The report and its charts update as new results arrive.

The dashboard brings together billed revenue, supplier payments, outstanding receivables, and potential issues. The revenue chart shows how sales are distributed across customers. Findings can be filtered by severity, and selecting one opens its supporting detail.

Follow the regulatory research

Next, Haruno researches the regulations relevant to the findings. In this run, six research agents work in parallel. The sidebar shows each agent’s task and progress; a green checkmark indicates that its work has finished. Whenever an action requires my approval, Haruno asks for permission.

Haruno incorporates the research into the report and revises findings where the sources call for a correction. The report’s source matrix links regulatory findings to the references consulted, so I can inspect the basis for a conclusion.

With the research incorporated, I can return to the summary, explore the money-flow diagram, or look more closely at customer revenue. The interactive report keeps those views together.

Open the finished Word report

Finally, Haruno generates a Microsoft Word document with an executive summary, findings, explanations, and references. Both the document and the interactive dashboard appear in the sidebar’s Artifacts section, ready to open.

This run took about 30 minutes. I started with a folder of source documents and ended with a report I could review and share, plus an interactive dashboard for exploring the findings. The same playbook gives me a procedure to reuse for the next reporting period.
