Sync QuickBooks on a schedule

The Scheduled tab now starts with a task of its own, Sync QuickBooks. Turn it on and Haruno fetches new and changed months for every company in your portfolio that is connected to QuickBooks: every day, Monday to Friday, once a week, once a month or once a quarter, at the time you pick. Edit changes when it runs, and Fetch now fetches every company straight away.

A scheduled sync only brings months in. It never closes, reviews or changes a month, so close the new months when you are ready.

The task runs while Haruno is open. With Run in the background on (Settings ▸ General), closing the window keeps Haruno in the menu bar and the sync still runs. A time missed while your Mac was asleep or offline runs once when it can.

Updates by email

Turn on Email me a summary after scheduled syncs, in the task or in Settings ▸ Books, and you'll get emails saying how each company's scheduled syncs went and which months they brought in. They never include any amounts.

Smaller things

• Haruno checks for a new version every time it opens, and every hour while it runs.
• Scheduled tasks no longer have a field for typing a cron expression. A schedule set up that way still runs and shows as Custom.
